On a shared network
In a hotel, café or railway station, the VPN encrypts the path between your device and its server. This reduces what the local network can observe or alter along that path.
HTTPS is still required all the way to the site. Also confirm the network name, disable file sharing and do not ignore certificate warnings.
Useful for
Reducing traffic exposure to the local network.
Not enough to
Prevent phishing or secure a compromised device.
Changing the visible IP address
Sites generally see the exit server’s address for traffic that passes through the tunnel. This can avoid directly exposing the public address of your usual connection.
Accounts, cookies and browser information may still identify you. An advertised location also does not guarantee access to third-party content.
Protecting multiple devices
A FuzeVPN account supports up to 5 devices. On Windows and Android, the app is designed for system-level scope. Extensions are limited to the relevant browser.
Before each use, choose the right version for the traffic you need to cover. Installing an extension in Chrome does not automatically protect Edge, a game or an email client.
What not to expect
A VPN does not make illegal activity legal, guarantee anonymity, eliminate account-based tracking or make all downloads safe.
It may also slow a connection or be blocked by a third-party service. Measure the result in your own context instead of drawing conclusions from a general promise.
