Use FuzeVPN with a WireGuard or OpenVPN file

A configuration file brings FuzeVPN to devices without a FuzeVPN app: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Linux, a router or an internet box. You create it in one click in your customer area.

Where to use a configuration file

The FuzeVPN apps cover Windows and Android, and the extensions cover Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave. Everywhere else, a configuration file takes over: you import it into the official WireGuard or OpenVPN app, available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Linux and many routers, and the whole device goes through FuzeVPN.

Each file is tied to one location and counts as one device within your limit of 5. A router set up with a file also counts as a single device, however many devices go through it.

Create a file in one click

  1. Customer area

Sign in to your customer area, then open the Devices section.

  2. Format

Choose WireGuard (.conf file), the simplest and fastest, or OpenVPN (.ovpn file).

  3. Location

Choose the location: the file will always connect there. For another location, create another file.

  4. Duration (OpenVPN)

For an OpenVPN file, choose how long it stays valid: 90 days by default. A WireGuard file does not expire.

  5. Download

Download the file. Its private key is created in your browser and included in the file: it is never sent to FuzeVPN.

Import a WireGuard file

  1. App

Install the official WireGuard app on Windows, macOS, iOS or Android; on Linux, install your distribution’s WireGuard package.

  2. Import

In the app, import a tunnel from a file, then choose the .conf file. On Linux, import it into the network manager or start it with wg-quick.

  3. Connection

Turn on the tunnel: your device appears online from the file’s location.

Import an OpenVPN file

  1. App

Install OpenVPN Connect, the official client for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and ChromeOS, or use your router’s OpenVPN client.

  2. Import

Import the .ovpn file: it contains the certificate and key it needs, and no FuzeVPN username or password is requested.

  3. Connection

Connect. When the chosen duration ends, create a new file to continue.

Manage your files

A file gives access to your subscription: keep it to yourself, like a password. It works as long as your subscription is active and the file has not been deleted.

Lost a file? FuzeVPN does not keep its private key and therefore cannot send it to you again: regenerate it from the Devices section. The old access is then revoked and replaced, without using an extra device place.

To free up a place, delete the file in the Devices section: its access is disabled immediately.
