Torrenting and seeding with FuzeVPN

With the Windows app, your torrents go through the VPN: downloading and sharing work. Here are the right qBittorrent settings.

Recommended settings

  1. App

Use the Windows app, with the kill switch on, as it is by default.

  2. Network interface

In qBittorrent, Options → Advanced → Network interface: choose the FuzeVPN adapter for WireGuard, or the OpenVPN DCO adapter for OpenVPN. Choose again if you change protocol.

  3. UPnP

Turn off UPnP and NAT-PMP: opening a port on your internet box opens nothing on the VPN server.

  4. Proxy

Leave the qBittorrent proxy off: the app’s tunnel is enough.

  5. Protocols

Keep TCP and µTP on. FuzeVPN’s DNS and WebRTC protections can stay on.

“Unreachable”: what it means

Port forwarding is not offered: other peers cannot open a connection to you themselves. qBittorrent shows this as “unreachable” or “behind a firewall”.

The VPN is still connected: the connections qBittorrent opens to other peers are enough to download and share. On small torrents, fewer peers may simply be reachable.

Check your address

Before starting a download, check with our “BitTorrent IP comparison” tool that the address other peers see is that of your FuzeVPN location.
